Uniform

Our dress code encourages children’s pride in their appearance and to increase their feeling of belonging to a caring school.

Summer uniform is from Easter to October half term. Children should come to school dressed in accordance with the code below:

WINTER

White shirt/ blouse or white or light blue polo shirt

Charcoal grey/ black trousers/ skirt or pinafore dress

Royal blue school jumper/ cardigan

With skirt/ dress – grey or black tights or white socks

Black shoes or trainers

SUMMER – optional changes

Charcoal grey shorts instead of trousers

Blue/ white checked gingham dresses can be worn in place of a skirt/ pinafore dress

All children should be in uniform daily.  On outdoor learning days, PE uniform must be worn. 

  • White shirt/ blouse or white or light blue polo shirt

PE Days

  • Plain white t shirt
  • Plain black shorts or joggers/ PE leggings/ tracksuit trousers (not tight cycling shorts)
  • Trainers
  • A plain royal blue hoodie/ sweatshirt– or a school jumper/ cardigan

Outdoor learning Days

  • Plain white t shirt
  • Plain black joggers/ PE leggings/ tracksuit trousers – not shorts
  • Trainers – with wellies available in school at all times
  • A plain royal blue hoodie/ sweatshirt– or a school jumper/ cardigan

All uniform should be named.

In Reception and Key Stage 1, outdoor learning will be weekly.  In KS2, children will have an outdoor learning session weekly for a term.  Where it is relevant to the curriculum, there may be additional outdoor learning sessions.

In Key Stage 1, children will be in full uniform 2 days per week and PE uniform 3 days per week.

In Key Stage 2, for the majority of the year, children will be in full uniform 3 days per week and PE uniform 2 days per week.

In March, all of KS2 will take part in swimming lessons as per this year over a 3-week period.

Outdoor learning Days:

  • Reception – Wednesday
  • Year 1 – Monday
  • Year 2 – Thursday
  • Year 3 – Spring term (Wednesday)
  • Year 4/5 – Tuesday.  Class 8 – Autumn term; Class 9 – Spring term; Class 10 – Summer term.
  • Year 6 – Summer term (Thursday)

PE Days:

The planned PE days for each year group are:

  • Year 1 – Tuesday and Wednesday
  • Year 2 – Monday and Tuesday
  • Year 3 – Tuesday and Friday
  • Year 4/5 – Wednesday and Thursday
  • Year 6 – Monday and Friday

Whilst there is no expectation that any uniform item should be branded, school branded items such as bookbags, jumpers and cardigans are available from Pupil Schoolwear, Swadlincote (Tel: 01283 224512) or MyUniform Ltd (Tel: 01283 619224).  We also have regular uniform swap shops to either bring uniform to give to be recycled and reused by another family and/ or to pick up uniform needed – free of charge.

  • Long hair should be tied back in a headband or bobble
  • No jewellery should be worn other than a watch and stud earrings. There should also be no nail varnish or make-up
  • All children need to bring a coat to school when the weather is cold for play times.
  • No large bags should be bought into school
  • Please make sure that all clothes are labelled.
